The sole exception is Kwameh Peprah of the Orlando Pirates. The young player of the season award has been nominated for the Ghanaian international. That is essentially a consolation nomination for the buccaneers, in my opinion.
The Soweto Giants, Kaizer Chiefs, and Orlando Pirates have all fallen behind Mamelodi Sundowns in the standings. This is in terms of success, as seen by the recent announcement of nominees for several individual awards for the soon-to-be-completed campaign. No players from any team were nominated for the best player of the season award.season honors The previous player to receive such recognition was Thembinkosi Lorch, who went on to win the season's best player award.
This season is entirely different, and it is not looking good for the giants. The Pirates and Chiefs should make a greater effort to challenge and compete against the league champions, Sundowns. Yes, some may point to Sundowns' financial advantage, but money does not buy everything, especially success in sports. We've seen it with clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City in the United Kingdom.
Both clubs have spent astronomical sums of money to get the best players in the world, but they have yet to taste European success. This means that even the Orlando Pirates and the Kaizer Chiefs will be able to compete.even when there is an economic disparity with Sundowns
The 2017-2018 PSL season was the first time Sundowns faced serious competition. Sundowns won the title by only five points over Orlando Pirates in second place.
In the following season 2018-2019, the respective teams would once again present us with an exciting title race. Sundowns successfully retained their title, with Pirates coming in second with 57 points to Sundowns' 59.
