Orlando Pirates Coach Gives Update on the Club's New Striker

Coach Jose Riveiro of the Orlando Pirates has provided an update on his team's newest striker, Evidence Magkopa.

When the transfer window closed, the former Baroka FC striker joined the Sea Robbers.

The striker for the Bafana Bafana joined with Pirates at the start of the season, but the club made a deal with Baroka so that he could finish the year on loan with Bagkaka before making the move to Mayfair.

The player was set to make his Buccaneers debut at the start of this month but was sidelined by injury just days before the new season began.

When the player recovers from his injury, he will try to earn back his starting position.

To the media, Riveiro has provided an update on the player.

I'm not sure how, but the coach remarked, "He's hurt."

Prior to the 2022–23 season, the footballer injured his ankle during preseason training with the team.

The coach declined to elaborate on the nature of the player's injury, citing privacy concerns.

The 22-year-old is still the only player who joined Pirates during this transfer window who has yet to make his debut.

Magkopa's fellow newcomers Miguel Timm, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Tapelo Xoki, and Bienvenu Eva Nga have also made their debuts.

The Buccaneers' goal-scoring woes may be alleviated by Magkopa's inclusion in the roster.

Pirates have only scored three goals after four games this season, so having a full roster of strikers is essential.

After creating many chances against Chippa United but failing to score, Riveiro said that scoring goals is something his team is working on.
