When former players take their time to comment on different performances by the current team that tells you how much they love the game. Even though someone can leave professional football but if it's within him then he will find ways to contribute to the game. There’s always that fresh breath of air that comes with someone who has walked the talk, been there, and done it all.
Now, a former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has shown his concerns towards the Soweto giants in terms of their morale as things have gone from bad to worse. This isn’t the Chiefs that everyone fell in love with, respected, and enjoyed watching their matches. He has stated that the club management should call an urgent meeting to sort out this issue between the technical team and players. “The coaches and players need to sit down and have a meeting because the whole thing that is happening at the club because it is going to cost them going forward. They can’t even combine to string five or six passes together. It’s like it’s each man for himself at Chiefs,” said Sikhakhane talking to Soccer Laduma.
It seems like Chiefs have another horrible start to the new campaign after they’ve lost their last two games against Mamelodi Sundowns and Royal AM. They’ve conceded six goals within these two DStv Premiership clashes and only managed to score one goal. At the moment Amakhosi are in the 12th position within the Premier Soccer League log standings, after four games. When it comes to their performances thus far, nothing is convincing, if they’ll be able to end their six-year trophy drought anytime soon. On Sunday, Amakhosi will have to try and get back to winning ways, as they’ll be facing the tricky Marumo Gallants.
The former Chiefs midfielder Ntokozo Sikhakhane has a look at the Soweto giants' recent embarrassing 4-1 defeat against Royal AM which he feels has exposed a lot of things within Naturena. As he got to see that Chiefs players don’t look happy, they’re playing to honour games and they’re not a team at the moment. As the players lack confidence in a way that they cannot play as a team. “After watching the match, I think the players are not confident. You can tell that from their body language… You can see that the players are not relaxed and it’s like they are always under pressure… They look tense and it’s like they are playing for the sake of playing to honour the games. I don’t know if there are tensions inside the camp, or what,” said Sikhakhane talking to Soccer Laduma.
