DSTV Premiership's Updated Log Table And Results: Is Kaizer Chiefs Getting Relegated?

The DSTV Premiership’s unpredictability is shaking up things with all the avalanche of goals, scintillating skills, wells of tears and the fun and flare- the freaky dances by Royal AM boss lady, Mamkhize! Let me give you a wrap of DSTV Premiership’s over-the-weekend results and an updated log table.

Orlando Pirates 3- 1 Chippa United

The Soweto giants ran riot over Gavin Hunt’s troops scoring 3 master-class goals. However, the Buccaneers survived a mini scare as former Bidvest Wits starman, Phakamani Mahlambi put Chippa ahead whilst the Houghton club came back strong with goals from Mabasa, Mabaso and a beauty of a combination play that led to Mosele firing home the third. It is worth noting that Pirates’ defence is very shaky, surprisingly so, because they boasts two natural leaders in Jele and Hlatswayo, but they are unable to communicate and organize the field which mauls the Soweto giants a plethora of times and may dent their hopes for title glory!

Kaizer Chiefs 1- 4 Royal AM

Royal AM wiped the floor with the Glamour boys as they put 4 past a helpless Peterson.

Amakhosi were a sheer shambles as they failed to keep a quick, clinical Letsoalo in check, as he fired home a brace. An own goal by Mabiliso added salt to the wounds as Thikazi put in the last nail in the coffin in the dying minutes. Hlanti’s goal was the only consolation for the Soweto based club. The question that then lingers in every fan’s mind is: will Amakhosi survive the lingering axe? I know a majority might say, it’s still early but this is a professional league. The first 5-10 games are critical in determining the complexion and possible outcome of the season.

Kaizer Chiefs have to remember that they have finished outside the top 8 and might want to quickly improve their organization in the field of play- or else they’ll find themselves battling Jomo Cosmos in the Glad Africa Championship.

Stelloenbosch 3- 0 Cape Town City

It is often said that the strength of a league is found in the David and Goliath encounters- where the ‘weak’ Davids obliterate the so called powerful Goliaths! Well, it was the case here, as minnows Stellebosch utterly outplayed and devoured the Sea Point based club by 3 goals through Robertson, and a Moseamedi brace.

Baroka 1-0 Sekhukhune UTD

Bakgakga Ba Mphahlele secured all 3 points courtesy of a 1 nil win over the new boys.

Supersport UTD 3-0 Swallows

Supersport united came strong with 3 2nd half goals to put the game to bed, as they slayed the Soweto giants via 2 penalty goals from Webber and Gabuza with a goal from open play from Mokoena. This put Swallows in an honestly bad position in the league whilst Suopersport claim 2nd spot in the log.

Sundowns 3- 0 TS Galaxy

Ka Bo Yellow thumped minnows by 3 goals to stay on top of the table. Goals from fan’s favorite Shalulile, Lebusa and newboy Kutumela killed off the game in the 2nd half for Downs.

So, here’s an updated log table after Gameweek 4:
