'This Former Pirates Coach Expresses His Regret Over the Pirates'. Take a look at what he said.
He was appointed on July 27, 2021, and he has signed a three-year contract with the company.
The Serbian coach has been with the Pirates for almost four years, starting with his initial tenure in 2006 and returned in 2017 to serve as the team's head coach until August 2019.
However, he was unable to bring home any hardware during his tenure at Orlando Stadium, and he has since admitted that this is something he regrets.
During an appearance on PSL Now, he stated, "Look, everything was exactly how God wanted it."
"Thinker of fate is at work, and whatever has transpired, I would want to express my hope that, if I had the opportunity to return, we might do something different to win a trophy with the Orlando Pirates."
"However, I'm pleased that the team has rebounded after a long period of inactivity; they won the MTN Super Eight last year, and I wish them the best of luck."
Sredojevic expressed gratitude to the Buccaneers as well as the South African football fraternity for the love and support he received throughout his time in South Africa.
As well, he addressed the South African football fraternity, saying, "Although I am not now present in your country, I have the impression that I have not only trained your players, but that I have also become friends with your football administration or the football fraternity fans."
"Whatever I have actually done day by day, 1000 days I have spent in first and second stints, I have not only coached and worked with you, I have truly loved you and I still love you, wishing you the best of luck in whatever you do, wherever you are in the world."
