Who will stop the Mamelodi Sundowns express train?

Five games have been played so far in the DSTV Premiership and Mamelodi Sundowns are still yet to concede a goal. In those 5 games, they have already failed to two sleeping giants of Soweto Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs thumping them both by a two-goal margin.

Thanks to a Peter Shalulile brace on Saturday, Orlando Pirates became yet another of Mamelodi Sundowns’victims. The question on many people’s minds is who will stop the mighty Mamelodi Sundowns train which seems unstoppable at the moment.

Golden Arrows were the last team to score a goal against Mamelodi Sundowns and it came during a 1 all draw in the Mtn 8 semifinal first leg that was played on the 28th August 2021.

The second leg will be played tomorrow and what is probably going through Golden Arrows players and management right now is whether they will be able to get a goal past the resilient Sundowns defences which hasn’t conceded a goal in 270 minutes of normal soccer time and scored seven.

Early this month coach Rhulani and Manqoba we're reported to be squabbling. Many thought this was going to have an impact on the performance of the team but it seems they get stronger by the days.

Golden Arrows coach Lehlohonolo Seema tweeted a picture of the Golden Arrows team after training with caption “don't underestimate yourself”. As it is suspected that the Brazilians will not field the squad that played against Orlando Pirates or the one that might play against Moroka Swallows on Sunday, but one knows that Mamelodi Sundowns have enough depth within their squad to an extent that their team B or C can give any club in premiership a run for their money.

Coach Seema might be having a few tricks up his sleeve but all we know is that he has to prepare himself and his squad both mentally and physically because Sundowns are truly a force to be reckoned with and no coach wants to make a mistake of undermining them.
