The biggest wrestlers and walking giants were the order of the day throughout the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Such matches were popular with fans, and wrestling businesses worked rapidly to make them a reality. From Andre the Giant to Giant Baba to Mountain Mike to the Great Khali, these wrestling ghosts drew large crowds.
Jorge González is the tallest WWE wrestler ever, standing at 8 feet (2.4 meters).
During the years 1989 and 1992, he was known as El Gigante in World Championship Wrestling. Gonzalez has also competed as Giant Gonzalez in the World Wrestling Federation since 1993. Gonzalez was diagnosed with gigantism, a disorder that caused him to grow to nearly 8 feet in height. In 1993, during the Royal Rumble, the Giant Gonzales had a tremendous first match in WWE. During the fight, the behemoth made his entrance, striding to the ring in an incredible fur coat that made him appear like a brushing Wookie, and aiming to eliminate the Undertaker as his first meal. He brutalized the Undertaker in a way that only a handful of WWE superstars could have.
2. André the Giant
Andre Rene Roussimoff, also known as Andre the Giant, was a professional wrestler and performer from France. Because of his gigantism, which was subsequently determined to be acromegaly, he stood at about 7ft 4in feet tall, making him the world's tallest wrestler. He had been given the title of "World's Eighth Wonder." Before WrestleMania III, Andre the Giant was reported to have gone 15 years without being defeated via pinfall or submission in his WWE career. His match with Hulk Hogan in the Shea Stadium Showdown in Shea, Pennsylvania, in 1980 was one of his most popular matches. By pinning Hulk Hogan, Andre became the champion.
3. Silva, the Giant
Paulo Cesar da Silva is a former Brazilian basketball player who competed for the national team. Silva had a good basketball career before going on to become Giant Silva, a mixed martial artist and certified wrestler. Silva was recognized for his height of 7'2" feet, and in 2014, he was named one of the top six tallest wrestlers in history. Silva entered the WWF in 1997, going by the stage name Giant Silva and becoming a member of the Oddities Stable. He spent the majority of his WWF career alongside Golga and Kurrgan.
