Kaizer Chiefs is the only club that has gone overboard in terms of purging players from the Dstv Premiership.
As of right now, from last month to now, more than 11 players have left Naturena village. The majority of the departures were so unexpected that they shocked the supporters.
We believed that Ramahlwe Mphahlele was the final person to leave the club after parting ways to party. But Amakhosi startled their fans by releasing their midfield defender Akumu Agay again in a heartbreaking manner.
Akumu Agay had a fantastic season with Kaizer Chiefs after joining the team in 2020, leaving a lasting effect on his career. The contract for Akumu was set to end in June 2023, and he was put up for sale to any clubs who might be interested. No professional team, though, contacted Kaizer Chiefs about the sale of Akumu.
The Kaizer Chiefs player was forced to break the deal. Agay is now formally a free agent.
