Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Why Teboho Mokoena didn’t join Amakhosi

Teboho Mokoena of SuperSport United was a transfer target for Kaizer Chiefs, according to the player's agent Glyn Binkin.

Binkin stated that Mokoena is on his way to Mamelodi Sundowns in an interview with Thomas Mlambo on Tuesday's The Ultimate Sports Show.

Binkin feels Mokoena would have joined Chiefs if the Soweto giants had pursued him more aggressively.

Sundowns, on the other hand, were able to persuade SuperSport United to sell, and their price met Mokoena's expectations.

Mokoena has accepted personal terms with Sundowns, and the only thing remaining is to reach an agreement with SuperSport United on a transfer fee, according to Binkin.

"I believe there was interest from Kaizer Chiefs in particular, but I don't believe they pursued it further with SuperSport," Binkin added.

"I believe it has to do with a lack of passion, and that passion was not pursued further."

He said, "I'm sure from the player's standpoint, he would have been able to arrange personal conditions on that side as well."

"However, as I have stated, it's too deep into the equation, and Sundowns were able to manage expectations on both sides."

"It made things a lot easier," Binkin said.
