The Glamour Boys unexpectedly announced the signed of Daniel Akpeyi from Chippa united back in January 2019.
The 34-year old will face a tough competition after the arrival of the former Bidvest wits goalkeeper Brandon Peterson. The club now has four goalkeepers Itumeleng Khune, Bruce Bvuma, Brandon Peterson and Daniel Akpeyi.
The player made his debut for the Nigerian national team back in 2015. That is also the same year he joined the Chilli boys here in South Africa.
After Itumeleng Khune was injured in the 2018/19 season, Kaizer Chiefs were forced to use their former goalkeeper Virgil Vries. Vries, who is now at Swallows Football Club made 'school boy errors' which forced Amakhosi to sign another goalkeeper.
