Chiefs has competition for their reported transfer target, see who it is
Kaizer Chiefs reportedly has interest in arguably one of the best midfielders in Africa, and with the January transfer window just weeks away, talks and rumours of transfer targets will start to escalate, but their reported interest in the African midfielder might not see any deals materialise in the January window as they are only allowed to sign 5 foreign players at any given time, and their 5 spots are currently occupied.
Kaizer Chiefs has reportedly shown interest in Zambian National Larry Bwalya who plays for Simba SC, a team Kaizer Chiefs are familiar with since they last played against each other in the CAF Champions league last season, and he occupies the central midfield position for the club.
Kaizer Chiefs are believed not to be the only PSL club that is interested in the expertise of Larry Bwalya as its reported that Benni McCarthy's club AmaZulu FC has shown interest in Bwalya. If the reports of Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC's interest in the player is true, than they will have to make big offers for the player and spend the cash, as Simba SC will want to see a big deal go through since he only signed for the club last year.
There has also not been any indication that Simba SC is willing to sell the player, so if they would decide to sell him, the highest bidder would land his signature. Kaizer Chiefs has cash to spend for new players, so they will come up with a big amount offer if they would opt to go for him in the near future. Benni McCarthy in the other hand in previous reports stated that if he had the cash Mamelodi Sundowns had he would win the league, which might indicate that he is not receiving the funds he requires to sign players.
But if they make a move for Bwalya in the July transfer window, both clubs need to make space for the foreign player by letting one of their foreign players leave as they already have the maximum amount of foreign players in their squads which is 5.
