The performances of the Kaizer Chiefs U19 team during the Engen Knockout Challenge were commended by the club's sporting director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., who sent a message to the team's players and coaches to express his appreciation for their efforts.

On Sunday, the Amakhosi sporting director and the first-team squad of the club were both present at Marks Parks in Johannesburg to watch the U19 side of Kaizer Chiefs win the Gauteng leg of the Engen Knockout by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties. This victory secured the club's place as the champion of this competition.

While the Soweto giants are in the process of rebuilding and rediscovering the "culture of winning trophies," Kaizer Jr., who has endorsed Amakhosi to win the MTN8 in the upcoming season, emphasized the necessity of "togetherness."

In a video that went viral on Twitter and was posted by Thabiso Mosia, Kaizer Jr. said, "We are all together, it doesn't matter whether it is the first team, the reserve team, when we going to the final of the MTN8, I know all of you will be there at the stadium, playing with us." This was said in reference to the fact that it does not matter whether it is the first team or the reserve team.

"Coach Ace [Khuse] and the rest of the coaching staff, we couldn't be more pleased with everything you've accomplished. We came to this location to demonstrate our unity, and when the first team does the same thing, we want the young boys to be present as well.

"Today, which is Sunday, a very important event took place. Congratulations to the KCYDA team, who won the Engen Soccer Tournament by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns after putting in an incredible amount of effort to earn the title.
