With the new Dstv Premiership kicking off this weekend, South African soccer fans have been blessed to get an opportunity to go to the stadiums in full capacity for the very first time in just over two years since the outbreak of the Corona virus around the world,. It has been just over two months without watching competitive football with the 2021/22 season coming to an end, fans were hungry and thirsty for some action, above all, they could not wait to be in numbers as they watch the game, Kaizer Chiefs fans who came in numbers and filled the Chatsworth stadium in the KwaZulu-Natal Province have welcomed the first defeat of the season, they have however expressed different opinions over the loss.
Chiefs travelled to the coastal province to face Royal AM who finished third in the previous season, they visited a team that have dominated them over the two games they played against them, their first league game, Malhosi suffered a 1-0 defeat before they were hammered 4-1 in the second leg, Royal AM were not willing to let that record go and they continued where they left off as they beat Amakhosi by a 1-0 score line.
Arthur Zwane started his head coach job with a loss but the fans are not angry at him, instead they have welcomed the defeat as they feel the team is on the right track, they believe that they are in the rebuilding phase but they have seen progress already in just one game played so far.
Fans took to social media to express how they feel now that their team started the new season with a loss, very few are expressing disappointment with a bigger percentage saying that defeat is not that bad, surely they are comparing how the team played last season, they seem to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
