Reason why former Pirates star is struggling at Sundowns

Those who have been following PSL Football will remember that once upon a time Gift Motupa was signed by Orlando Pirates from Baroka FC, unfortunately Motupa didn't have the best time of his career with Orlando Pirates as he struggled with game time and he was loaned out back to his former club (Baroka FC) until he later resurfaced at Bidvest Wits, and right when he was enjoying himself at the Johannesburg based team (Bidvest Wits), the club owners sold the club's status and thereafter Gift Motupa was signed by the DStv Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

After joining Sundowns the player seems to have been haunted by the same challenges he encountered when he was still at Pirates as he struggled to get some game time, but what could be going wrong with the player? The club's co-coach Rulani Mokwena has given an update about Motupa and he clarified reasons surrounding the difficulties faced by him ever since he was signed by Sundowns Abit two seasons ago. Mokwena revealed that Motupa has been struggling with injuries which also prevented him to get some game time at the club.

Rhulani Mokwena revealed that Motupa has been seating at the stands and supporting the club at his capacity. The former Buccaneer has missed some great opportunities for Mamelodi Sundowns as they have been participating at the DStv Premiership, Nedbank cup, and the CAF Champions League games.

Rhulani Mokwena indicated that the reason for his absence is as a result of injuries, and at this moment the Motupa is under strict surveillance from the club's medical team as they are working on his recover, it's just unfortunate that this year Motupa only made one DStv Premiership appearance, when he was introduced in the final 20 minutes when Sundowns won a 2-0 victory over Chippa United in February.
