Itumeleng Khune and George Lebese were among the football stars who turned to business before retiring from the game. Willard Katsande and Bernard Parker are among the current players who have done the same.
Only Lebese remains without a team after being forced to break his contract with his former US club, the Minnesota Switchbacks Football Club, by covid-19. His search for a team has gone on for more than two seasons, and he's had a difficult time finding one.
Since retiring from football, Melba Nkosi has been able to focus on his business ventures.
The couple owns an Assets apparel company and a nightclub/restaurant in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, as well as plans to open a second nightclub/restaurant in Gauteng, South Africa.
Having a grand opening on the 14th of May 2022 for the Seventeen Lifestyle in Pretoria, Gauteng at 47 Robert Sobukwe St in Sunnyside will be a day to remember for Lebese and his wife.
A good lesson for the next generation is that it's critical to marry someone smart, because none of this would have happened if Lebese hadn't married her.
To Lebese and his wife on the successful launch of their new business, on behalf of the entire staff at @Sports Updates, we extend our congratulations and best wishes.
