The 20 edition of the Engen Cup got underway on Friday the 1st of July 2022 at Randburg, Gauteng, with the top under-19 sides across South Africa coming against each other to see who is the best under-19 side in the country in a three-day tournament.
Kaizer Chiefs Football Club is one of the clubs that is participating in this annual competition, and on Friday it was one of the clubs that played one match due to the ongoing load-shedding problems in the country.
Amakhosi's match was moved to Saturday where they could end up playing three matches should they advance beyond the group stages, and in their first match of the day they took on the home team, Randburg Academy Football Club.
The young Phefeni Glamour Boys managed to win the match one-nil thanks to Wandile Duba's wonder strike in the first half.
