Mhlongo believes both the Chiefs and the Pirates have a lot of work to do with the players they signed at the start of the season.
"The Chiefs' new signings are starting to impress by producing results for the team," Mhlongo tells KickOff.
"At Pirates, I'm a fan of Kwame Peprah and Ndah, the center-back.
"It's a hard one at Sundowns because when they sign a player, they give him time to learn the system and adjust to the lifestyle.
"Then they gently introduce him; it's not about him making an impression, but about him fitting the piece together." When it comes to Sundowns, it's a whole new ballgame.
"I can't claim the additions of the Pirates and Chiefs have done well because they are battling to compete with Sundowns."
"So we can't claim they've made good additions; if they've made good signings, they should be battling for first place with Sundowns."
"However, as you can see, Sundowns are outclassing them, so I can't say they made good acquisitions; we'll have to wait till the second round to find out."
