Maleka on failing to silence the Mkhize fan club.

Marumo Gallants assistant coach Mpho Maleka revealed that he was pleased with the efforts his players have shown against in trying to slow down the tempo of the in-form Royal AM side.

Gallants shared the points with the Kwazul-Natal outfit in the DStv Premiership encounter played at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday with an exciting 2-2 draw. Despite his team conceding a late equaliser in the dying minutes of the game, Maleka said the display from Gallants was good on the day.

Though he says he was a bit disappointed, he insisted that they will look at some minor mistakes and learn from them going forward.

“We can only say, we are disappointed with what just happened. The game plan was well followed, and we managed to take our chances and control the match,”

“Where we knew that they can hit us, they could not because of the way we planned. Unfortunately, towards the end, on the dying minutes that we had to kill the game then we failed."

“Lost of concentration, but I can only say, Well, yesterday (Tuesday) we scored two goals, and conceded two that is where the disappointing part comes in."

“But you can say we soldier on, the confidence is there, the guys did their part, we have to work on our last minute of concentration, that is where our problem is."

“But we can only say, we can take the good things that we did today, and move on. But the boys did themselves proud by giving this good effort."

“Yes, we are just disappointed with just to throw away the three points for the last 10 seconds. That is what the whole thing looks like we didn’t do better but, you know, we did ourselves, proud we can only move forward and say hard luck to the boys."

Maleka's men were very close to silencing the celebrations of MaMkhize and her fan club but it wasn't to be as the celebrations went on in that 2-2 draw.
