Opinion: Chiefs blundered hugely by reappointing Baxter.

If Kaizer Chiefs win any trophies under Stuart Baxter, I’ll hand over a machete to the editor of Soccer Laduma to chop off my middle finger.

Any coach that starts a game with seven defensive players is playing for a draw or not lose the game. This approach to a game is not about taking the game to the opponent but to guard against the opponent breaking your team Down and scoring goals.

With that heavy artillery at the back and in the middle, you’d think that a team would not leak goals, but it was the opposite against Royal AM.

An opportunity to bring on an attacking player availed itself when Nange was injured, but Baxter brought on the defensive Agay instead.

What was the coach defending?

I may not hold a single coaching badge, but from my experience of having watched the best coaches in the world for over 40 years, I know a tactically astute coach when I see one.

Unfortunately, Baxter does not tick the box. The less said about his disdain for young talented players, the better.

It is so infuriating. I cannot tell the Motaungs what to do, for I’m not a family member. I would, however, advise them that love is not always better the second time around. Chiefs blundered hugely by reappointing Baxter.
