Mamelodi Sundowns have provided an update on one of their forgotten stars.
After making a couple of new signings during the previous Window transfer, some of Sundowns players have found it difficult to make it to the club's first eleven.
Affonso have not played a single game this season.
He last played last season against Bidvest Wits where he suffered a groin injury that saw him being sidelined for quite a while.
The club's joint coach, Rhulani Mokwena has given a detailed update on the player.
Talking to the media, Rhulani said the player has muscle related problems.
He added that they are trying to resolve his issues to make sure that he recovers fully before returning to the field of play.
Mokwena further explained that the player has already started with some light football action and they are hopeful that he will return to full training soon.
However the Brazilians have not really missed the player because the team is not struggling upfront.
The likes of Peter Shalulile have been outstanding in terms of scoring goals.
When Affonso returns he will have to fight very hard for his place.
