It was a late drama yesterday in the game of AmaZulu football club up against Kaizer Chiefs football club, Benni McCarthy side hosted the Soweto Giants at Kings Park in Dstv premiership season match.

It was a late drama as Kaizer Chiefs football club were given a penalty of which made fans to be divided as some say that was not a penalty, both teams were seems to be desperately looking for 3 points but they ended up sharing 1 points each

The former SowetoGiants midfield Luvuyo Memela opened the score sheet for AmaZulu football club as he was assisted by Keagan Buchanan, then Keagan Dolly equalised for Kaizer Chiefs football club from the penalty spot that divided fans as some are saying it was really not a penalty.

AmaZulu football club head coach, Benni McCarthy also commented on this matter and here is what he said: “The win (against Baroka) was a morale booster because when the schedule came out, we had Cape Town City, Sundowns, Swallows, SuperSport United, Golden Arrows, Baroka and now Chiefs. It’s like they wanted to send us to our death very soon,” AmaZulu head coach Benni McCarthy said ahead today’s fixture against Kaizer Chiefs.

“We are finding our groove now, but we know we are up against a fearsome team with incredibly good players. On their day they can punish and hurt any team. You might capitalize when you get them when they are not at their best, like some other teams did.

“But Chiefs will always bounce back because they have players with big match temperament. We are preparing for a clash of the titans. Kaizer Chiefs, in the history of SA, is a big one.

“But I think we prepare the way we do for every game, trying to focus on ourselves more. We fix what we need to fix and how we need to get back to our best – where we are in control most of the time and not play into their hands and their strength.

“It’s our home game and we need to set the tone and control the pace of the game against Kaizer Chiefs, that’s why we focus on ourselves quite a lot. I am not disrespecting any opposition, but when it comes to us we do what we have to do.”
