Bafana-Bafana player will no longer play for his club because of Kaizer Chiefs links

As interesting the 2021/22 Premier Soccer League transfer window has been it has also come with some bitter spices as a Bafana Bafana international player got himself in trouble because of the links he has with Kaizer Chiefs, according to reports the 29 year old Siyethemba Sithebe has been reported to no longer play for his club again because of his links with Kaizer Chiefs. AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu was purposefully angered by how his rivals (Kaizer Chiefs) facilitated the signing of one of his best players (Siyethemba Sithebe).

Mr Zungu made it clear that the 29 year old Bafana Bafana player is no longer in the club's plans as the deal between AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs is still pending amidst complaints raised by the KZN based outfit. "Sithebe won't be playing for the club anymore, he is no longer part of the team and it's nothing personal, but business," said Sandile Zungu.

This is rather strange that a club chairman would be furiously angered by the fact that one of this players is wanted by a rival club, and that he himself agreed to move away from the club and join the Soweto giants. The head coach of the KZN based outfit (Benni McCarthy refused to directly comment on this issue, he simply spoke as a coach and stated that his responsibility at AmaZulu is to handle what is happening in the field of play and not what's happening in the boardroom.

But in his deepest sincerity Benni McCarthy knows that as a club they have lost an asset in Sithebe as he has been part of this for a while, and most definitely he was part of the technical team's long term plans as they are also participating in the CAF Champions League group stages. Things won't be easy for AmaZulu as the second round of the Premier Soccer League will commence on February, they will be fighting to restore the honour in the DStv Premiership, and they will need to plan around how they can defeat Orlando Pirates in a Nedbank cup tournament.
