Just a few months after Kaizer Motaung Jnr assured the fans, Kaizer Chiefs kept their pledge to lower the average age of their team. Prior to the 2022–23 PSL season, the Chiefs' average age was dropped to 25.9 from 27.9 with 13 players over the age of 30.

And that's thanks to the management's and the new technical team's courageous choice to let no fewer than ELEVEN players go.

Only two of the eleven dismissed players were younger than 27; Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya left the Chiefs at the age of 25 years old, and Dumisani Zuma, a 27-year-old.

Daniel Akpeyi, Daniel Cardoso, Bernard Parker, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Leonardo Castro, and Lebogang Manyama are just a few of the players who were mostly over the age of 30.

Siyethemba Sithebe is the only new signing who is rapidly approaching the age of 30, as he is currently 29. None of the newly-signed players have also reached the age of 30.

Who are the KAIZER CHIEFS' current oldest players?

Itumeleng Khune (35), Erick Mathoho (32), Sfiso Hlanti (32), Cole Alexander (32) and Khama Billiat are the only five players currently playing for the Chiefs who are above the age of 30. (31).

Phathutshedzo Nange, 30, who joined Chiefs at the beginning of last season, is younger than them in terms of the previous year from Stellenbosch.

WHO ARE THE KAIZER CHIEFS' YOUNGEST PLAYERS AT THIS TIME

Mduduzi Shabalala (18), who was just promoted to the first team following some outstanding performances with the Amakhosi reserve team, is the youngest player in the current lineup.
