Footballers earn a good living on the pitch. But once they are out of the limelight, very little is often reported.
He was once an icon during his playing days at Kaizer Chiefs and he was at one time tipped to make a European move.

This month (January) marks three years since Bhongolwethu Jayiya last played on the professional stage.
He has struggled to find a club in the past three years meaning that he could be on his way to retirement.
Jayiya was once an icon and revelation during his hey days. It boggles the mind as to why he has struggled to even attract a team in the lower tiers.

Jayiya turns 32 in March and has also played for Mpumalanga Black Aces, Bidvest Wits and Maritzburg United.
When he last had a media interview, he spoke about wanting to study tertiary education. It's not clear if he managed to study and disappeared from the football scene.
