Following the decision taken by the club Al Ahly to boycott all the domestic cups till the Egyptian Football Association met the club demands , Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib has made a huge statement regarding the departure of the coach Pitso Mosimane. During the press conference El Khatib said there was a campaign that involves club legends to get rid of Pitso Mosimane .
" By numbers and achievements, Pitso made history in this club that nobody can deny ". Mosimane joined Al Ahly in the year 2020 just after winning the Absa Premiership title with Mamelodi Sundowns . In the same year he won the league title and CAF Champions League .
Al Ahly won in the final of the CAF Champions League against Zamalek in the year 2020 and Kaizer Chiefs in the year 2021 .Mosimane won two CAF Super Cups , Egyptian Cup and two bronze of the FIFA club World Cup .
