3 Chelsea Players That Shouldn't Have Stayed Longer Than They Did Against Chelsea {Opinion}

Everything culminated in a thrilling match between the two top Premier League teams, Chelsea and Manchester United, which ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday night.

Even though Chelsea had a higher percentage of the playing possession than the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool, they squandered a plethora of valuable chances in front of goal due to a number of players who shouldn't have been on the field for as long as they did. This was particularly true of some of their players who shouldn't have been on the field for as long as they did.

Speaking of how Chelsea failed to convert their chances to earn all three points, the following Chelsea players should have been substituted earlier than the time the coach substituted them, and some may have been better off not having played the entire match.

Here are a few of the players to keep an eye on:

Loftus Cheek

Loftus Cheek did a good job filling in for N'golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, who were both injured prior to the game. However, he did not seem to want the ball enough when he was in good positions, and when he did have the ball, he appeared to be at a loss for what to do with it.

He didn't contribute enough of the creative work that we had come to expect from him to help Chelsea win, and I'm still baffled as to how he managed to play the full 90 minutes for Chelsea against Manchester United.

Hudson Odoi

Odoi wasn't at his best on Sunday evening, and the fact that he was able to continue playing for nearly 80 minutes in a match of such high intensity despite wasting some clear chances that he should have converted or holding on to the ball that he should have released to his teammates who are in the best position to score was a surprise.

It was necessary for Thomas Tuchel's team to have a less selfish creative midfielder like Pulisic come on in the second half of the match to replace Hudson Odoi sooner than we saw him do.

Timo Werner

Timo Werner has once again eroded the confidence of the Chelsea faithful, this time as a result of a series of missed opportunities that could have earned his team three points.

Despite the fact that his pace was difficult for the Red Devils' players to keep up with, what would an ordinary run and chance creation have done for a team that was unable to score?
