Maritzburg United lost another top player in Rushine De Reuck, and the reason he left the transfer window has been revealed.
The selection team is always aware of the players' movements and never hinders anyone who wants to grow and try new challenges.
According to sources within the club, Drake should actually leave at the end of the season, but due to the high demands of Mamelodi Sundowns, they have to let him leave now.
The source told [!!!!]: "The club plans to release De Reuck at the end of the season. This is a deal between the player and the chairman, but Mamelodi Sundowns needs a new defender."
"After the Bafana camp in Bafana, De Reuck is different. He is more eager to grow, and the club decided to allow him to realize this dream."
After defeating Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup on Friday night, head coach Ernst Middendorp hoped that he would not have to answer questions about De Reuck.
"I don't think you will ask this question, but let me be clear that this is a decision made by the club, which means that the coach, chairman and management are part of the responsibility," Midendorp said.
"We are together. This is a decision made by the club and I think De Reuck is happy with his current position. We have to find a solution in the team.
"We have discussed to do this, even if it may be in another direction and decision. We must move on."
It is understood that Maritzburg is making final preparations for the signing of Serbian defender Dusan Stevic.
