Former Sundowns player reveals that he actually wanted to play for Kaizer Chiefs

The name of Luvuyo Nomandela was once a name that was spoken highly of within the football circles in South Africa, this is a player that had a lot of potential during his hey days in the Premier Soccer League before he eventually joined Mamelodi Sundowns from Free State stars. Now being a 32 year old player it's unlikely that the South African football universe will once again witness the greatness that was expected to be displayed by the player.

With Free State Stars Nomandela had a great time of his career before he was signed by Mamelodi Sundowns during the 2014/15 season, and this was a move that was highly publicized as it was expected that Nomandela was going to do great exploits under the guidance of Pitso Mosimane. Unfortunately things did not go as the player had hoped as he fell out of favour at Sundowns, he was mostly dropped to the bench and started to decline starting from that time.

Mamelodi Sundowns management then started to loan him out to Moroka Swallows and Jomo Cosmos until he parted ways with Masandawana during the 2016/17 season. Nomandela had hoped to revive his career elsewhere as we've seen him joining teams such as Cape Town City, Mthatha Bucks on the first division and then since from last season he moved to Chippa United and we are yet to see him making an impact with the Chilli boys, even at 32 years of age Nomandela is still hopeful and is determined to continue playing football.

When speaking to the media Nomandela revealed something that not many people actually knew about, he revealed that he actually wanted to play for Kaizer Chiefs during the prime of his career, but that didn't happen as Mamelodi Sundowns signed him from Free State stars. In his own words Nomandela has also revealed that he does not regret joining Sundowns bit he understands that things didn't go as he plans due to injuries he had. Even though his wish was to play for Kaizer Chiefs, he joined Sundowns because they were a team that approached him and Amakhosi didn't as he had wished.
