Another Soweto Derby is upon us today, let’s take a look at Chiefs possible starting line-up

Kaizer Chiefs will have to look beyond their disappointing mid-week action against AmaZulu FC as they have a tough encounter this Sunday afternoon. Chiefs will battle it out against the struggling Swallows FC at Dobsonville Stadium. This is another Soweto Derby that is expected to be entertaining since both teams need the maximum points. Amakhosi played into a 1-1 draw against Usuthu, meanwhile, Swallows were defeated 1-0 by TS Galaxy in the previous weekend. At least Amaswaiswai has had a week to prepare for the Soweto Derby and they need to move away from the relegation zone.

Chiefs on the other hand haven’t had a consistent performance in the DStv Premiership and that’s something that Stuart Baxter has raised during his match interviews. Nevertheless, this is something that they’re working on at Naturena and they would like their players to outperform the Dube Birds. Now, let’s take a look at the predicted Chiefs starting eleven in the Soweto Derby.

*Goalkeeper: Over the past couple of weeks Baxter has shown a lot of trust in Daniel Akpeyi and he has been exceptional in goals. Akpeyi has been regarded as Chiefs number one shot-stopper due to the techniques that make him pull off superb saves to put Amakhosi back in the game. The Nigerian international will be looking at keeping his fourth clean sheet in the DStv Premiership.

*Defenders: The Chiefs technical team has been chopping and changing their back four and that’s expected even against Swallows. The right wing-back might be Ramahlwe Mphahlele and the left wing-back could be Kgaogelo Sekgota. When it comes to the central defenders then they could go with Daniel Cardoso and Eric Mathoho.

*Midfielders: The Phefeni Glamour Boys could have the likes of Njabulo Ngcobo, Phathutshedzo Nange and Anthony Akumu as their central midfielders.

*Forwards: Chiefs will trust Lebogang Manyama (left forward), Keagan Dolly (right forward) and Bernard Parker (centre forward) to bang in the goals.
