Ex-chiefs striker | Before & after retirement from football

In South Africa we always overhype news signings who in turn fail to live up to that excitement. In some cases these professionals are often out of their depth.

Sometimes these footballers are quality players and it remains a mystery as to why they failed so bad.

In the PSL era DStv Premiership side Kaizer Chiefs have had the services of some of the highly rated footballers from the other side of Bietbridge boarder post. We cannot begin to name a few without the mentioning of Tinashe Nengomasha, Willard Katsande, Knowledge Musona and Kelvin Mushangadzike. In case of the latter there was a huge hype around his signing as he was deemed as a possible replacement for their troublesome star player Jabu Mahlangu who is formerly known as Jabu Pule.

Joining Kaizer Chiefs Mushangazhike went to be one of their mediocre signings as he never lived up to that hype. Four years later during his time at Garankuwa United Mushangazhike found himself being deported to his native country after his visa had expired. Following the tragedy his career took a turn for the worst as the incident affected him mentally.

In 2009 he would finally put a lid to his career after a spell in Mozambique. Post his retirement from football the newspaper heaadliner during his footballing days went to make headlines again after it was reported that he was going through financial difficulties and was living in his mother's property in the Budiriro surburbs in Harare.

As of late we were able to find some of his recent pictures of social media and from the looks of things he is not living a lavish life like most of his retired colleagues in the industry. From a distance we can safely say that he does not visit the establishments he used to frequent as is now hanging around with ordinary citizens of his native country.
