The South African Airways is reported to have shared some information that helped hint on when regional and international travel may be coming back.
This is after the South African Airways reportedly made indications that the domestic and regional flights would remain under suspension until the end of the month of October 2021.They reportedly hinted that there may be resumption in May.
However , the struggling airline which has failed to operate under lockdown as it is still under administration will need to have some members of staff before it can resume its operation.
Business Insider highlighted that the airline will need to make recruitment of pilots, have partners and acquire a maintenance schedule for the plane.
It's highlighted by Business Insider that the South African Airways got into a business rescue after some years of financial difficulties.
It was the only way to help the airline to escape the jaws of liquidation. The process took place in the month of December 2019.When the Covid-19 hit the surfaces of South Africa, the airline was already under financial strain.

When the Covid-19 came into the picture, the financial reserves of the airline had been swept away and there was already a wage dispute in the national airline.
The coming of the Covid-19 pandemic became the final nail on the coffin for the airline. This led to the airline being forced to ground its flights for the rest of the 2010 financial year.
These difficulties led the airline's creditors into voting for a business rescue plan. The government was to come in with R10.5-billion as a bailout .
The Public Enterprises department is reported to be having great faith in the airline and even view it as an important public sector which should not be allowed to fail.
However, the statement that was released by the South African Airways that services may resume in May highlights that international travel may be coming back in the midst of the global Covid-19 vaccine rollout.
The national travel of airlines is conditional as a number of countries are still struggling from the cases of Covid-19 infections.

The international flights on the other hand are reported that they will be on suspension until the 30th of October. By this period , the level of Covid-19 vaccinations must have been at a well advanced stage.
Reports highlight that the South African Airways has since made the identification of its potential equity partners. These in accordance to the Minister of Public Enterprises will help with the resuscitation of the airline.
The partner is set to be unveiled as soon as possible. However, before this can take place , the South African Airways' rescue practitioners will have to ensure that debts are cleared and that all outstanding payments are cleared.
