Zamalek lost their 1-0 lead in their latest Egyptian Premier league fixture and it cost them dearly as they lost the match 2-1 in the end. 
Zamalek played their latest fixture in the Egyptian Premier league away from home against Ghazl El Mahalla and unfortunately lost the match 2-1 in the end after they lost their 1-0 lead in the match as the home side made an incredible comeback as they took all three points from their home fixture. Zamalek's failed attempt to win the match handed Al Ahly a stroke of luck as Zamalek's lead in top stayed at two points more than Al Ahly, and now if Al Ahly win their next match, they will reclaim their top spot in the Egyptian Premier league. Zamalek is currently on 23 points after the loss and Al Ahly on 21 points. Zamalek were first to lead the match in the second half but their lead were ruined as Ghazl made a break through late in the second half of the match.
Zamalek opened the scoring in the second half when Ferjani Sassi scored in the 69th minute of the match as he gave Zamalek the 1-0 lead in the match. Abdou Yehia scored in the 76th minute of the match as he levelled the score on 1-1. Zamalek suffered a huge blow when their goalscorer received his second yellow in the 87th minute of the match as Zamalek had to continue the match with a man down. Ghazl made a late comeback when Khaled El Akhmimi scored in the 90+5 minute of the match. Ghazl won the match 2-1 in the end as they defeated Zamalek from 1-0 down.
