The now retired former Bafana Bafana star had been tipped to return to the club that literally made him.
According to several sources, Pirates boss Irvine Khoza badly wanted Modise to return to the club. He had been locked in negotiations with the stalwart as he wanted him to start his coaching career at the club that made him.
But after some long negotiations, Modise has decided to pour cold water onto the offer citing there are other initiatives he is currently working on before he can return to football.
“They had discussions and Teko said he has a lot of things going on at the moment that would not work out if he were to become a coach. He has valid reasons, but the door is not closed. This is football and anything can happen,” said the source.
Ever since he retired from professional football, Modise has been involved in various initiatives such as punditry on top pay football channel SuperSport.
