Confirmed: Sundowns transfer target released by his club

Mamelodi Sundowns are set to welcome their second signee this January transfer window. After unveiling Surprise Ralani from Cape Town City FC in the past couple days, Sundowns have shown that they mean business as they want to make sure that each position has enough stars competing for game time. This has given the Downs technical team to have enough fire power to battle within the second half of the season and hopefully clinch more trophies. Sundowns have been linked with the Bolivia international Erwin Mario Saavedra in past couple of weeks. Even though these were regarded as speculations, however that might change sooner than people think.

This follows after Saavedra said his final goodbyes to his team - Club Bolivar, including the fans and everyone one who has been part of his beautiful journey within South America. This was an emotional farewell for Saavedra as he has had a great bond with the Bolivar family and they've had incredible memories. Saavedra has been with Bolivar since 2014 and has grown immensely with the South American giants. As he made almost 300 appearances and netted 50 goals. "After almost 300 games and more than 50 goals with the light blue, today we say goodbye to Erwin Saavedra. Together we live immense joys and great moments," reads a translated version of their tweet.

The versatile midfielder also spent a short spell at Goias FC has been wished well by his club on his future endeavors. The tricky thing is that Sundowns haven't been mentioned on their post as it seems like they're keep the whole discreet. Even though that is difficult since the media is well aware about the negotiations and the whole deal. Nevertheless, Downs is expected to unveil Saavedra in the couple of days. Since they've reached their quota for foreign players then they might offload Gaston Sirino as he's been unhappy within the club. "We wish you the best of success in this new stage, Erwin. Thank you for everything! Bolivar will always be your home," wrote Bolivar on their Twitter page.
