An experienced Premier Soccer League referee Luxolo Badi was heavily criticised after the match between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs at Orlando Stadium a fortnight ago. Pirates won the match 2-1 and they were denied a clear penalty when Njabulo Blom brought down Vincent Pule in the box, but Badi waved on.
Pirates players, Thembinkosi Lorch, Ben Motshwari and Pule complaining about the incident and they were all given yellow cards. Badi has broken silence about denying the Buccaneers a penalty. He said that Pirates players approched him aggressively that's why he gave them yellow cards.
Badi said that in knows that he was supposed to give them a penalty, but he didn't because in a derby the game has to flow as that's what fans want. He added that Chiefs also had a penalty incident pf which he also ignored, luckily the players didn't approached him aggressively.
Badi said that the players have to respect the referee even though he is making errors. Badi said that his suspension is a learning curve.
