Chiefs prove that Baxter is the right coach for the club after their 4-1 win against Chippa

There have been numerous Kaizer Chiefs fans that have been calling for the club management to released Stuart Baxter from his head coach position. As Amakhosi haven’t had a great start to the 2021/22 season, following losing crucial games in the DStv Premiership and even thrashing out of the MTN8 competition. This meant that Chiefs had to work on their game to get back to winning ways despite the immense pressure from the fans. As they’ve been scrutinizing numerous things within the club that is not going well.

Nevertheless, the Phefeni Glamour Boys defeated Chippa United by 4-0 at FNB Stadium despite coming into the match as least favourites. Chiefs made sure that they begin their journey of bringing back glory days at an expense of their former coaches at Chippa. The goals were scored by Khama Billiat, Lazarous Kambole, and a well-deserved brace from Keagan Dolly. This was Chiefs’ second win this season after seven games and they’ve now moved to the eighth spot on the log standings. It seems like the FIFA break was utilized incredibly well by Chiefs as they were able to dominate the bulk of the game against the Chilli Boys. As Baxter’s men were able to dictate matters in the first half, which opened up Chippa at the back and they were caught sleeping on numerous occasions by Chiefs attackers. It came as no shock when Dolly scored two goals in the first half.

However, the Chilli Boys came back hungry for the points in the second half, as they realized that if they don’t push for goals then Amakhosi will be victorious on the day. Hence the likes of Thokozani Sekotlong and even Mokhele Maloisane were knocking on Daniel Akpeyi’s door. Sadly, for Chippa nothing came out of their attempts at goals as they were not clinical enough. When Billiat netted a goal for Chiefs on the 70th minute, that’s when they knew it was over, especially after Kambole’s 86th-minute strike. This was a great birthday present for Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung who turned 77-years-old on Saturday.
