Why Arsenal is Poised to Reject Swap Deal With La Liga Giants

A new chapter in Arsenal's history is likely to unfold during the January transfer window, as manager Mike Arteta is frantically looking to replace Pierre Aubameyang with a quality striker. With the Gabonese forward linked with a transfer to Camp Nou, the player's agent is allegedly pressing for the player to leave the Emirates Stadium.

According to the Daily Mail, Barcelona are apparently considering a swap deal involving Aubameyang and Dembele in the near future. However, the Gunners' primary motivation for releasing the 32-year-old is to free themselves from the enormous salaries of £250k per week that they had been paying him. Arsenal was able to attract young players the previous summer since their wage demands were relatively modest, which proved to be a successful strategy for the club.

This means that the club will almost certainly reject a trade offer since Dembele's salary is £50k less than that of Aubameyang. Intermediaries, on the other hand, will make it seem as though the transaction is imminent.

Should Arsenal consider signing Dembele as a substitute for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in your opinion? Feel free to leave comments, like the post, and subscribe to the blog for updates.
