According to, Pirates could release their veteran goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands, their attacker Gabadinho Mhango and central midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu. These three players might a surprise package as one would think that thy still have something to offer in the current squad at Mayfair.

However, the interim co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids might have made a decision to not field certain players as they do not meet their criteria and plans. Other players that could be axed are Bongani Sam, Tebogo Tlolane and Nkanyiso Zungu. Even though the list can increase, but it depends on the technical team and management in terms of which players are still needed within the club.
