Orlando Pirates is looking at the possible of beefing up its goalkeeping derpatment, with veteran goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands coming to an end in June, and considering he has not made an appearance this season. His future is expected to be decided in coming weeks.
Onother goalkeeper facing uncertain future at Pirates is Siyabonga Mpontshane, who played for the majority of the season, after Richard Ofori suffered a long term injury his contract is also expiring next month.
The Soweto giants have been linked with SuperSport United captain and Bafana Bafana number one goalkeeper Ronwen Williams. But now the club has added Amazulu goalkeeper Veli Mothwa to the list of their targets.
Mothwa has been in impressive form this season, he kept six clean sheets in six consecutive matches. Overall he has kept 13 clean sheet in 25 appearances, which put him in second place only behind Hugo Marques who has 14 clean sheets in 27 appearances.
According to Soccer-laduma Pirates have been following Mothwa progress, with interest of him joining the club next season. Mothwa contract with Amazulu will expire at the end of the current season. Although Amazulu are also keen on him staying at the club and they are expected to offer him a new deal.
