Unlucky || JDR Stars lost their top spot after latest GladAfrica results
Saturday's GladAfrica Championship results has proven to be a good day for Richards Bay FC as their latest match results has landed them the top spot on the National First Division log standings. Richards Bay FC walked away with a 2-1 win against University of Pretoria FC at home for maximum points, but JDR Stars was just unlucky to lose their top spot to Richards Bay FC as they lost 1-0 to Free State Stars away from home.
Richards Bay FC walked away with the win all thanks to Somila Ntsundwana and Vusimuzi Mngomezulu who scored in the match as they conceded only once when Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Luvuyo Phewa scored for the University of Pretoria FC. Ntsundwana scored his goal in the 34th minute, Phewa scored in the 56th minute and Mngomezulu scored his goal in the 57th minute of the match as Richards Bay claimed the top spot after an impressive 2-1 win at full-time.
The match between Free State Stars against JDR Stars, turned into a disaster for JDR Stars as the home side won the match 1-0 at full-time all thanks to Moeketsi Sekola who scored for Stars in the 82nd minute of the match for the win.
JDR Stars defeat has seen them dropped to the second place spot as they remain on their 26 points as Richards Bay FC moved into the top spot with 28 points. The club's closest to Richards Bay FC and JDR Stars to the top spot is Venda Football Academy on 25 points, Pretoria University on 24 points, Polokwane City and Uthongathi FC both on 24 points, but as the points stands on the log, the top spot is currently in the hands of Richards Bay and JDR Stars.
