Sundowns to send Mkhuma on loan?
In just a few months from now, Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to send out a few players out on loan, the football fraternity understands.
One of the players the defending DStv Premiership champions are set to send out on loan for more game-time is midfielder Promise Mkhuma, who has not made a lot of progress since former coach Pitso Mosimane left to join Al Ahly.
The media reported that Cape Town City were interested in taking the player on loan for the season on transfer deadline day, August 31, but the proposed move to the Mother City could not be pushed over the line.
According to coach Manqoba Mngqithi, Mkhumalinecurrently out on the sidelines nursing an injury, with the former Golden Arrows mentor confirming that they were looking to loan out the player for him to get more game-time.
That did not happen, but Mkhuma could be able to make a move in January, with his return from injury not too far off at this stage.
This season, the 21-year-old, who previously captained Sundowns’ DStv Diski Challenge side, is yet to ake an appearance. In 2019/20, he played 16 times in all competitions, though he came on as a substitute in most of those.
The Citizens could look at trying to bring in the player once the transfer window opens in a few months from now.
