When everyone thought the deal for Vilakazi to Chiefs was done Motaung Jnr disappointed the fans

It would appear that Kaizer Chiefs have reached a decision on the future of Sibusiso Vilakazi, whose current deal with Mamelodi Sundowns is about to come to an end.

The former Bafana Bafana international will become available for free agency at the conclusion of the current season, when the contract he had with Sundowns would have expired. Vilakazi's current contract with the Brazilians has not been extended for an extended period of time, and as a result, reports that he will be joining the Chiefs have begun to circulate once more.

Amakhosi is well known for their ability to attract free agents, and they also have a track record of signing more seasoned Sundowns players, which adds gasoline to the fire. These moves include, to name only a few examples, players such as Jose Torealba, Leonardo Castro, and Khama Billiat.

Vilakazi was a significant target for Chiefs after his departure from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2012. At the time, an international transfer was being considered for him. When that opportunity did not present itself, Sundowns came calling and signed him in what was regarded as a significant financial move on their part. His time at Ka Bo Yellow was cut short by injuries, despite the fact that he had already shown promise early in his career.

It would appear that the more experienced players and those on the team's periphery will be the ones to make way for the younger, more talented players now that they are aiming to add even more firepower to their squad for another run at the CAF Champions League the following season. It is unfortunate for 'Vila,' but it seems that he belongs in that category.

It would appear, however, that Chiefs fans who were looking forward to seeing Vilakazi play for the Chiefs in the upcoming season will be let down.

This is because the club's sports director Kaizer Motaung Jnr appeared to announce that Amakhosi will not be pursuing the player in a chat that took place on Twitter.

A supporter of the club using the handle "Sheikh Bilal" posted, "There is no need for Sbu Vilakazi," before taking over the official accounts for both the club and Motaung Junior on Twitter.

Another astute follower saw that Kaizer Jnr had shared the initial tweet, and they interpreted this action as a show of support for the message that was being sent.

Another fan then asked if the retweet was an endorsement, to which Kaizer Jnr's response of "100 percent" appeared to confirm that he was approving the post by confirming that he was supporting the post. It would appear that this clears the air on the transfer dispute between the Chiefs and Vilakazi. Have a read through the comments made below, and then come to your own conclusion.
