End of the road for four Ex-Pirates stars?

End of the road for four Ex-Pirates stars?

Four former Orlando Pirates players could be without a club soon as they are nearing the expiration of their contracts at their current club.

Former Orlando Pirates players Luvuyo Memela, Augustine Mulenga, Lehlohonolo Majoro and Thabo Qalinge is all at AmaZulu FC, but their contracts with the club is set to expire in June which is very soon.

The four former Pirates stars all enjoyed a stellar now concluded season with the club with Luvuyo Memela the one out of the four who featured for the club the most in the league.

Luvuyo Memela completed 26 appearances scoring 7 goals with 1 assist and his contract is coming to an end with no indication of a new deal at the club. Memela was a key figure for the club in the attack and could be handed a new deal considering the amount of goals he scored as the club will need a solid forward like him next season under the management of Brandon Truter who recently got the role as permanent head coach.

Former Pirates player Lehlohonolo Majoro played 14 league matches scoring 1 goal and 1 assist, and unlike Memela he could be on his way out as he was used less and contributed less for the club in the concluded season.

Former Pirates player Augustine Mulenga played one match less than Majoro which was 13 appearances, but score two goals more as he scored 3 goals and 1 assist and his contract is coning to an end also with no indication of a new deal, but there's a possibility that the club might opt to keep him for longer.

Former Pirates star Thabo Qalinge featured for AmaZulu in 12 matches without scoring any goals but contributed 2 assists, and since he featured in as little as 12 matches, it's unlikely that AmaZulu FC would opt to keep him beyond the current season.

This could be the end for the four former Pirates players at AmaZulu FC, but who knows the club still has time to extend their stay before June. Should they leave, the club will have to get busy in the July transfer window to avoid facing relegation in the new season with an incomplete squad.
