Chiefs youngsters score 39 goals in four matches played in one day

There is no team in the whole South African football fraternity that is being looked at like Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, as ever since the club announced that they are going to have a squad overhaul towards the end of last season, almost every football lover has been looking at the club.

The club's hierarchy has since kept its word and changes have been made as a new coach was appointed, 11 players have been shown the exit door while the club has welcomed eight players, and more are expected to arrive in the next coming days.

The transfer dealings the club has been having the last few weeks have somewhat overshadowed the impressive run their development side is having in the Gauteng Development League(GDL), as all four Chiefs divisions in this league are just a few steps away from reaching the knockout stage of the league.

Having come short last weekend against their arch-rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club where they lost two and drew the other two in the four matches they played against Masandawana, the young Phefeni Glamour Boys went into their clash against Elspark United Football Club at Elspark Sports Ground, Germiston looking for victories that will put their season back to track.

The under-13s first took to the field in the first match of the day, and they were brushed aside by Chiefs 8 - 0 to start a drubbing show Chiefs put on, on the day, as the victory was followed by the 16 - 0, 7 - 0, and 8 - 0 victories for Chiefs' under-15, 17, and 19 respectively to bring the total of Chiefs goals scored on the day 39 and not conceding any.

According to me, this is a statement Chiefs are sending to their next opponents, that they should know that the young Amakhosi brings goals and more goals to the table when facing them.

Back to the matches, I think Elspark's defence in all four matches was poor, as letting in 39 goals in four matches is beyond being poor.
