Kaizer Chiefs Star In A Strategy To Take Off Sundowns From The Top.

THE beloved Kaizer Chiefs fan, Nkosingiphile “Mshini” Ngcobo, has broken out in a dream to close the gap between the Amakhosi and the top team in the DStv Premiership following his goal-scoring prize in December.

Ngcobo was named the club's all-time leading scorer in December following a brace that put him in the net during Chiefs' 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United.

The youngster, a young Pietermaritzburg man and a favorite of Chiefs fans, scores the goal as soon as the scheme comes to fruition under Stuart Baxter.

He scored this goal for the second time this season in which he played eight times in which he scored two more goals for his teammates.

Speaking to the Chiefs media team following his clash, Ngcobo expressed his strong desire for the remaining games this season.

"The way we closed last year is encouraging and that's why we can't wait for the season to start again so we can see if our momentum continues," said Ngcobo.

"My intention is to close the gap between us and the top team (Mamelodi Sundowns leaves them with 16 points), so it is important to win our games and continue to work hard," he said.

The 22-year-old is impressed with the way the Chiefs have shown improvement towards the end of last year which proves their 2021 finish in fourth place on the DStv Premiership log.

“It has become clear to me lately that when we are together at Chiefs no one can touch us. The important thing now is not to let go of resentment. We have to fight if we have to as long as that will benefit us in the end, ”he said.

Regarding the goal he was nominated for, he said he agreed with him that it was really good but it came as a result of the collaboration.

"Almost every team needed to be involved in opening the door for me to score this goal in Sekhukhune so thank you to all my Chiefs teammates including coaches, managers and fans," Ngcobo concluded.
