Ex-Chiefs star player was "BEATEN" to death after he was caught stealing

According to a recent report drug trafficking and abuse has escalated in recent years in South Africa, particularly in the years prior to and shortly after we gained our democracy.

It has further been reported that alcohol, dagga, heroin, tik and cocaine are some of the most used substances in the country.

On Friday evening most of the top publications in the country broke the news that former Kaizer Chiefs star player Lucky Maselesele has passed away at the age of 41. When the story first broke out details surrounding his passing were still sketchy.

According to the "DailySun" the former Kaizer Chiefs star player was murdered on Friday evening in Alexandra. It has further been reported that Maselesele was so deep into drugs to a point of addiction. Furthermore it has been reported that Maselesele was beaten up by members of the community and then thrown out on the streets for dead.

According to the publication, Lucky Maselesele was caught by members of the community after he was trying to steal electric cables and was badly beaten. The DailySun has since further went to reveal that Lucky Maselesele was later taken to a government mortuary after he was confirmed dead.

There have since been reports that the community of Alexandra tried everything in their power to help him quit drugs but he did not. It is reported that Maselesele would resort to stealing just to satisfy his cravings. On Friday evening the tragic news of the passing of Lucky Maselele was confirmed by former footballer Isaac Mabotsa who had visited his family.

During his footballing days Lucky Maselesele was one of the most exciting attackers in South Africa after making his debut in 1998 in the colours of Kaizer Chiefs. Largely known as a journeyman in his career he went to feature for not less than ten professional football clubs.
