Makhaula Explains teams' Slow Start to the season

AmaZulu FC skipper Makhehlene Makhaula has clarified why the team is off to a slow start this season. Usuthu have made a sluggish start to the 2021/22 season, with just one win in their first six DStv Premiership games. Following an outstanding 2020/21 season, the team's skipper Makhaula thinks the opposition might just have comprehended their game plan, but luck hasn't been on their side, drawing comparisons to Maritzburg United. "I do not really think we had last season's luck; furthermore, many clubs have understood our style of play and each player's approach to the game; it's the same thing that occurred to Maritzburg United following good season; they could no surpass themselves the following," Makhaula told the media. This season has indeed been particularly hard, and games are flying by at a breakneck pace." Makhaula was given the responsibility to lead the team after his impressive performances last season, which earned him the club's player of the season award. "I'm proud and happy to be a team captain, even if it comes with its own set of issues.". When I'm alone, I wonder why things aren't going well now that I'm team captain, but I remind myself that "before light, there is darkness." "- he continued. "I'm different from other captains because I'm not a talkative captain and I'm not always good with words, but I set a better example, I battle on the field of play for the team to win, and the team can see how we should do things from there, and I think that is why our coach Benni McCarthy chose to give me the armband because I do talking through personal effort on the field."
