Sad news: Young Chiefs talent is willing to leave Chiefs for their rivals

Happy is ready to go. Sources say he wants to play but has had no chance.

Swallows FC are said to be in talks with Kaizer Chiefs over the services of left-back Happy Mashiane on a season-long loan deal, but Amakhosi are reluctant to license the 24-year-old.

Mashiane hasn't given much importance to the club in the last few seasons since being promoted to the Chiefs in 2019, despite impressive performances each time. Leaving Mashiane would be a major blow to the Chiefs, as he is a defensive and offensive option and is valued by the club, the source said.

However, the Thembisa-born player is clearly open for loan. He is ready.

"I want to play, but there is no chance. He thinks the loan will work out and give him a chance to show his worth,” the source said. Mashiane made more than 20 appearances for The Chiefs in the 2020-21 season, but his chances last season dwindled and he is yet to appear under Artur Zuwen in the new season.
