Mamelodi Sundowns have been waiting to release their new kit for the new season for a while now. The club has been waiting on Premier Soccer League to know if they can use a second star on their new jersey. They have made the request since 2019/2020 season. The club has now went ahead and released their kit after waiting so long without getting a response. The Brazilians a week ago they joined forces with Roc Nation Sports which is funded by Jay Z. The aim is to promote the club globally in order to make it one of the biggest clubs in Africa. Mamelodi Sundowns has released both home and away kit.
It is unknown at the moment if they will have a third kit. The kit is filled with African symbols we see here in South Africa mostly. Both home and away kits have those symbols. They went with their traditional yellow colour for home and they kept the blue colour for away. Let's take a look at the photos.
Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Alex Shakoane said "We are excited to reveal the newest kit for the 2021/2022 season. This unique football jersey pays homage to the natural greatness that is found across the African continent. Looking at the individual elements on the design, they depict the rivers, deserts and mountain ranges found all the way from the North right through to the South."
