Following their 1all draw against Ethiopia on Thursday, Ghana needed a win when hosted South Africa in the World Cup Qualifiers this evening 14 November 2021. Meanwhile on the other hand South Africa needed a draw to moved to the second round.
The match started well as both sides were moving the ball around. It took 33 minutes for Andrew Ayew to open the scoring for Ghana through the penalty spot.In the 41 minutes Andy Yiadom received a yellow card for Ghana after a degerous tackled, And the match went into the half time 1neil.
Just minutes after the second half Ghana got the free kick' and it has saved by Ronwen Williams. On the other hand Siyanda Xulu received a yellow card after a degerous tackled to Andrew Ayew. Just in the 59 minutes South Africa got a Set Piece ' which was saved by Ghana goalkeeper. Again Percy Tau had an opportunity but his shot was saved. In 69 minutes South Africa made few changes bringing Keagan Dolly in the field. Back on the count attack ' Sulumana though he scored the second goal for Ghana but his shot went wide. In the 85 minutes another substitute for South Africa taking out Thibang Phethe.
At the end 1neil is how it ended. And South Africa are out of the World Cup Qualifiers, Ghana will progress to the playoffs.
